Items you should never run out of

Growing up my mom kept the house a float. She kept everything stocked well. This is something I have learned by living with others. When I lived alone I some how did it without even knowing.

My point is there are certain items that I feel you should NEVER ever run out of. Why cause it just drives me crazy to not have them. This house IS ALWAYS out of the important stuff. It drives me crazy, I just want to know how the heck we use so much! Here is my list, check your cabinets if you have them well you have a well stocked house like my mommy!

1. Peanut butter - this is an essential item especially when you have kids that come over.
2. Q-tips - who would run out of those? You get like 500 in a box.
3. Toilet paper - I'm sure everyone runs out of this, BUT I swear my mom NEVER did.
4. Trash bags - I tell you this house uses more trash bags than a family of 15.
5. Butter - This one really gets me. I do not understand how we go through so much butter. Then the thought of eating all that butter just grosses me out. I hope it is others that use so much and not me.

Well I thought I had more but I guess those five are the ones that REALLY bug me. Keep your house stocked, your children will appreciate you when they are older.

Can you see my shadow??

I got a new job....well not official but official enough now that I feel I can blog about it. Currently I work as a Pharmacy Technician in retail. I have been offered a job in the Hospital Pharmacy which is a completly diffrent thing. This job offers me almost $3 more an hour than my current job where I feel overworked and unappreciated, but I feel I learn so much. However, what I learn is from our current Pharmacy Manager which Monday is his last day.

Since my paperwork at the hospital is still in the processing stage I can not offically start. Today I "Shadowed" the girl whose place I am taking. I know her because she use to work with me. She basically showed me the ropes.

The Pharmacy I work in right now I type the prescriptions, pull the drug, fill the prescription by counting the pills or whatever, mix the antibiotics, then the pharmacist verifies it all and then I ring the patient up when they pick it up.

The hospital pharmacy, we printed a sheet that said what meds each floor was out of, pulled those meds, ran all over the hospital....not really run more like slow walk, filled the carts one med at a time and had to enter it to the computer at lunch and did it again. There were other things to do such as type in the orders for the patients, make IV's, fill hospice orders, and I'm not sure what else. For the most part it looks as if I will be filling carts.

With the better pay and less stress I'm positive I want to take the hospital job. I just think I may be very bored. I think I will stay PRN at my retail store, but who knows I may just like the lazy life, I guess it isn't lazy just different from what I'm use to.

Being a big sister

On Thursday my little sister Madalyn came to visit me. We got her favorite...Pizza and rented movies Thursday night. She called me a party pooper cause I said I was tired. She sang the party pooper song for close to 15 minutes she said she was going to sing it till I did something fun she finally got tired :). On Friday I went to shadow at the hospital (I will post that later). Then we went swimming at my friend Amy from works house. We took Scotty and Addisyn and Shelby. It was Addi's first swim of the summer and she loved it. Maddie teaches swim lessons every summer it was fun watching her teach Addi. She just really got her to not be scared of the water and she also kicked. Then it got COLD so we left. We got some ice cream and came home.

For dinner we had a "Sister Supper." We went to an Italian Restaurant in town and got a HUGE pizza and I also had a Cesar salad. The girls were tearing up the rolls. Maddie was full and then said "oh do they have a bathroom here? I can go to the potty and then eat the rest of my pizza." I laughed then she said "You know poop a little out then you can put in more." It was so funny.

Then we got home and Shelby stole her and they spent several hours in Shelby's room, until i threw a big fit and they came out and played with me. ha Not really a big fit. Then we all watched a movie. It has been just quiet family time. I really love just being with my family I miss them so much. Even if we don't do anything big just being in the house with them is good enough for me.

Maddie has to leave EARLY in the morning and that makes me sad and worried about her driving. It is so funny to think how 10 years ago I was screaming at her and telling her to bug off and now I can't get enough of her. I love that little girl! :)

Baby James

This adds to the last post. Jana just called me "Baby James." She says she is going to start calling me that now.

My dad use to...well I guess still does say "I don't know I'll play your silly game........."

If you ask him a question that is his response.

EXAMPLE: I say "Dad, where is my hairbrush?" He says "I don't know I'll play your silly game, where is your hairbrush?"

It really doesn't make a whole lot of sense but I also say it when I don't know the answer.

Jana just asked "Amber what are we going to do?" I reply "I don't know I'll play your silly game, What are we going to do?" Her reply "Shut up Baby James, I'm going to call you Baby James now."

I have to tell the truth I do say this to other people often, but I do it to Jana ALL the time cause I know my dad did it and it drove her crazy!

I am my father's child

My father never had a son. I think I would have to be the closest thing to it. I'm pretty girly now. I still don't wear a bunch of make-up, have my nails and such done regular. I most of the time dress pretty homely, but I do not like to be dirty, or deal with bugs and such. I do around family act pretty gross with burping and farting. In no way am I lady like around my family.

When I was younger I was the same way. I competed with my father in farting. I loved dirt and bugs. I would have lived outside if my parents would let me. I remember chasing my sister and her friends around with daddy long leg spiders. That would never happen now.

This weekend some friends were over and she was saying how she is like a guy with no emotions and her brother is the girl who cries and gets so upset over small things. Then Jana says Amber is like a guy especially in relationships. She then says "I see your dad in you more and more everyday."

I of course ask how. She says that he would never make plans. She would say I have some friends coming into town do you want to go to dinner with them on Friday. He would say "I don't make plans, when Friday rolls around if I'm free I will go."

I am the EXACT same way. I hate to make plans in case something better comes along. Well not really that reason more in the sense that I don't want to feel as if I have let someone down. If it is plans to go out of town I usually make those in advance but just something in town no way. You better ask me the night of. I am also a very spur of the moment type of person also.

Oh and I remember as a kid my dad would always say oh it is just around the corner and it would be like 30 minutes away.......I do that too.

OR "I will be home in a little bit"........which means 2 hours....ME TOO!

As far as relationships I'm not to sure about, Jana says I am.

It is funny the traits we pick up from our parents, I also have my mothers also that's what makes me so great, I have the best of both. :)

What I don't want

A man similar to this came to my work today and asked Jennifer if I was married. Then told her to tell me to look at him so he could wink at me because he "liked the shit out of me." How flattering! He said he would come back in the next few days. I can only pray that he forgets about me.

ME

Tell me why only men like above find me attractive? Why can someone like this not?

Crazy Kids

Selena and the kids came to visit this past weekend. Shelby had been at Selena's for a week she was bringing her home. Some friends Sydney and Zach came also. We went to the Dairy Festival here in town. I was expecting something much bigger. There wasn't anything but some high school girls milking a cow in a milking contest which one would be crowned the "Dairy Queen" that was at 3 then at 4 you paid $3 got a bowl and spoon and got to try all the different homemade Ice creams people had made and judge them. Sounds great, except you didn't get much and there were lots of people and when you finally got up to a table they were all out. I did not get $3 worth of ice cream. It was fun just hanging with my sister and the kids.

We then came home Sister and I made dinner. We ate. Then we lost all the kids except Aleigh, cause I was trying to fix her hair. I drove around the block...no kids. I finally found them. They were ding dong ditching. You know where you ring the doorbell then run. They CLAIM Selena said they could. She didn't know where they went. We then discuss not leaving without telling us and somehow I tell them I will take them TP'ing. No other adults really wanted to and then cars were and issue. Some how the kids settled on dressing up crazy and going to wal-mart and asking random questions. It really was a funny night. Here are some pictures.

Here is the CRAZY group.

Gabriela and Aleigh

Sydney and Shelby, Sydney's butt is made out of my bra stuffed. That is really BIG. If you would like to donate money to my breast reduction fund I would be grateful.

Alex was so funny, He said I can wear and do this cause I don't live in this town. He also told a man at wal-mart as he made the peace sign to "keep it real." That kid is so funny cause he acts so serious when he does funny stuff.
I had so much with the kids that weekend. I can't wait for them to come and stay with me for longer.

Goodbye Drew

My good buddy Drew is moving to North Carolina, oh my in two days. It is so sad. I'm going to miss him. I met him in Rockwall the other night for dinner and a movie, before he moves. I needed a picture of us so we took one at the end of the night, I look like poo.
Drew and I met when he came to work at the Dusty Attic. I can't remember what grade he was in maybe a Senior. Then it seemed like he was so much younger than me. He just turned 21 and I'm 27. I actually don't feel like I am as older than him as I did then. I remember at work when he would move all this furniture and I always thought he is such a little guy but he is STRONG. Drew and I grew to be good friends. He use to keep me company at night when I had to stay late to run reports when it was my turn, he helped me move, he actually helped find my apartment. We took tons of funny pictures at work after hours. Since I have moved away we don't see each other as often. I have a few friends that when we go without talking or seeing each other for awhile when we do get together it is like we were never apart, Drew is one of those friends.
I'm going to miss him. I have a cousin in North Carolina that I love and miss also. This works cause now maybe I will actually get out there since there will be 2 people to visit.

Baseball Season

I tend to post lots about the girls gymnastics and such. They happen to have events on the weekends where Alex always has his sports and such during the week. On my way back from College Station I got to stop in Athens and watch a game.

Here's the practice swings.

Up to bat.

This is why I have so many pictures with the girls, Alex does not like to take pictures. As we were taking this one he just kept saying "I want to go home."
His biggest fan....Aunt Beer

I took a video of him when he was up to bat, but it is on the other camera and I'm just not in the mood to put it on the computer right now maybe you can see it later.

Country Living

I went to College Station for a few days to visit some friends. We went to Schillterbaun and just hung out for a few days. On my way down there I stopped at a gas station in a town called Kosse. This has always been a pit stop for me since I lived in College Station. I pull up and this is what I see, except the man was standing next to the lawn mower drinking a cup of coffee. By the time I got the camera out and on he was getting ready to leave. You just don't see this everyday, he was not there for gas, but coffee.

Late Birthday Celebration.

I have been slacking on the blog updates. I have just been busy. Here go some post. My birthday was in May, but Jana was in the hospital so the big celebration she had been planning was postponed and we celebrated it the first Friday in June. It wasn't a big celebration just some of the neighbors and family came over for some cake and we just hung out. I got a energy burst around 9pm and mowed the front lawn. Here I am blowing out my MANY candles. It looks like I am squeezing Addi but I was just trying to keep her from getting burned.

I'm on the Dean's list

Mom called me Monday said I got a letter in the mail. It is a big certificate that says I'm on the Dean's list because of my good grades last semester. Crazy huh! I always thought the Dean's list was something bad to be on turns out it is great. My mom is so proud she asked if she could keep the certificate at her house for awhile. Of course I said yes. Here I am holding my certificate.

Wii are not fit

I'm heading to College Station today to visit some friends and then Monday we are going to Schilterbaun (I know I spelled that wrong). Last night I came to my sisters in Athens. To drop Shelby off. She is going to visit the family while I'm down south. We got here about 11;30 pm. I seem to always get a late stat ha!

When we got here David and Brie had just gotten back from Wal-mart where the bought the Wii Fit. I was excited cause I told Shelby on the way down I was going to play the Wii cause I hadn't been able to the last few times I was here.

Ok so on to the point. Wii did not do very well. I'm not going to tell you my weight, BMI or any of that other stuff. My Wii age is 38. Selena's was 42 I think. The only person who was close to their real age was Shelby. She was 14, 1 year older than her real age.

It was so fun playing the games. I did the Hula Hoops, I also did not do so great. I did the short run and I placed 1st place! It was funny when you were running your little character would trip and fall if you went to fast ha! I never tripped, but the girls were just to be funny. It was so funny watching them really run. Their little legs were moving so fast trying to get the little Wii to trip.

I went to bed at 2 and the girls were still up playing. What a fun night. Oh I took some pictures, I will post them when I get back from my mini vacation.

Don't mess with her donuts

I had to take Shelby to school today. Since I have to be at work at 10 and there is no sense in going back to bed I went to the donut store to get some donuts. I was just going to go thru the drive-thru. I pulled up behind the 4th car in line and began to wait my turn. Now I'm the 2nd car in line and some crazy lady comes up to my window and is talking before I even have my window down. I roll it down expecting her to tell me that I have a flat or something you know being a nice person. BOY was I wrong. She says "Did you know you cut in front of her, me, all of us." I looked oddly at her and said, "no." She says "Well you did and don't let it happen again." Well now she has just pissed me off. I was very kind and said "where were you?" and her redneck reply "in line." What I wanted to know was where in line because when I came up there was a black car and I pulled in behind it. Apparently there was a gap in the line for traffic to come thru, why I don't know the parking lot is plenty big for traffic to go around the line.

She goes and talks to the car behind me and then starts laughing and gets back in hers.

I'm sorry that I cut, I honestly did not know there was anyone else in line. Now with my apology out of the way. Why the HECK did this crazy lady wait for 2 cars to move before she even came to tell me that I cut. She should have said something when I originally cut, and maybe I would have moved by now my lard butt is 1 car from the window I am not moving. Plus she could have been a little nicer when I looked so confused. Plus I'm sure it will not happen again cause when will she and I be at the donut store together.

Oh and to make things worse. I have an old shirt from work that says CVS that the front store employees wear. I never wore it to work. I just have it cause I was going to work up front to help them one day but then they didn't need me and I already had the shirt. It is really comfy so I sleep in it. Yes you guessed it I was wearing it! Now she knows where I work and will probably put a hit out on me.

My donuts were nasty I ate one and gave the other to Jana. I don't think today is going to be a very good day.

Nancy Grace

I love Nancy Grace. If you don't know who she is she is a newscaster on CNN. She use to be or maybe still is a prosecutor. She usually every night takes a few big stories and talks about them along with other attorneys, authors, and the people call in.

Most people are either a Nancy Grace fan or do not like her. It would be VERY easy to not like her. She is what most people would call a WITCH. I however call her a SAINT. She just pretty much tells you like it is and doesn't take any CRAP from anyone. When the defense attorneys try to beat around the bush she says "Look can you just answer my question."

Today I watched an episode that I tapped the other day about Hulk Hogans son being in jail because he CHOSE to drive drunk and wrecked his car and put the passenger, a returning solider, in a coma. He is brain dead and will most likely spend the rest of his life in a hospital bed. Nick Hogan was sentenced to 8 months in prison. Because he is only 17 he is in isolation till he turns 18 then will be set loose with the other prisoners. He and his family are complaining because he is in a small room, with no windows, cable, or playing cards. He has a short time of being board while his friends family has a lifetime of pain and loneliness. The Hogans want Nick to be on house arrest until he turns 18 then go back to jail.

I don't know about you but I just think that is a crazy waste of time just sit it out and be done with it. Compared to the other guy your getting out pretty easy. Nancy Grace agrees with me!

My Best Friend

I just thought I would write a blog about one of my Best Friends. I just got through talking on the phone with her and I'm just so happy that she is my Friend. We have so much in common. If I am ever sad, mad, hurt, or whatever I know that she will be able to say something that will make me feel better. She can even critique me without making me feel bad. We grew up with the same standards and believe the same things, I think that helps us be so close.

I would say that I wish she was my sister, but I don't. I'm happy with the sisters I have and the bond I have with them. My bond with Kristi is something different, something you don't have with your sisters. Not that I love her or my sisters more, It is just a different bond. I could not imagine life with out it. It makes me sad to think that everyone in the world does not have a friendship like ours.

One day we will be neighbors, we hope. She is ahead of me by 3 kids but we can look at it as a blessing cause they will be able to babysit for me when we need some Target therapy.

I would post a picture but for some reason unknown to us we do not often take pictures of us together or even of each other. I did post a picture of us in Maddie's graduation pictures the other day. Just scroll down. :)

Where is it?????

A few semesters ago I had to buy a stupid finance calculator for one of my finance classes. I bought the knock off cause it was $14 vs. $25. I already had 2 of Maddie's old ones, she had to upgrade because she took those smart people classes.

When I took my stats class last semester I couldn't use the finance calculator cause it messed me up. Now I'm in a finance class again online.....AND.....need the finance calculator and can not find it. I REALLY do not want to have to buy another one. This class is costing me $629.00 I really don't want to have to buy a $14 calculator. If I don't find it tomorrow I going to have to cause I don't have time to wait for it to pop up.

More defensive driving

I'm finishing my defensive driving today. Right now it is playing a video about seat belts. It has a woman with a rat tail putting an egg in a remote control car and crashing it into a brick!

I can't wait to be finished with this.

UPDATE: I finished I only missed one question on the test, something to do with speed limits. I picked none of the above I guess one of them were right but they all sounded whack to me.

My Beautiful sister the Graduate.

Trying to recreate the picture of us holding Maddie 18 years ago.

My BEST FRIEND, and the back of her baby Will's head

More pictures to come when I get some from Mom and Maddie.

Please kill me now

This is like pulling teeth. NO, this is worse. My Internet connection is better but it is still pretty boring. In between so many screens they ask you questions. I guess to see if you are paying attention and also make sure you are you. The last question I was asked.

What is your name?
a. bob
b. frank
c. sam
d. amber

What????

Defensive Driving

I got a ticket awhile back and have to take defensive driving because of it. I know wish I would have just paid it. I'm taking it online right now. I can't move onto a new screen till I have spent a certain amount of time on each screen. Plus there is a man saying everything I am reading. My Internet connection is pretty low right now so I will try to do some blog updates in between screens.

I may actually end up in jail cause I think I am suppose to have all this stuff in by June 9th, but I don't think I will have my certificate in time.

this is a 6 hours course and I started at 9:15....Looks like its going to be a long night!
