I have lost 7 pounds since moving to California. My clothes still don't fit and I still feel fat, but the scale has moved.
I'm on Day 3 of no soda. I hope I can keep going.
I have eaten more chips ahoy today than anyone should have.

Funny, and True Story
Ok It began on Labor day.
We went swimming at an Aquatic center in a nearby village. There were lots and lots of children. We even had to take a swimming test to swim in the deep end. YUP, even the adults......we passed. The teenage lifeguards who were more into getting a tan then really saving a life needed a break, so they cleared the pool for about twenty minutes or so. We finally get back in and about ten minutes later they cleared the pool again. WHAT?? Turns out there was a pool pooper. YUP, someones little turd left a turd. They cleaned the pool and then about thirty minutes later we could get back in and yes since we payed $7 each to get in and had only been there about 2 hours we did get back in so we could spend the remaining $5 balance. However, we stayed clear of the pooper spot, it was in the kiddie area and we were in the deep end.
We left and headed home for showers and a good poop cleansing. Then took the boys to Pole Position which is an indoor go-kart track. They had some free passes burning a hole in their pockets. It cost $25 for one ride which is a mere 14 laps. Can you say RIP OFF!!! I can and did.
On to the more funny part of our tale. We are heading home when we stop at a red-light. I look over and see a man in a white mustang, notice the word man, and not handsome man. He looks like he has a military hair cut I say "Ashley, do you think he is military?" she says "ummm I don't know maybe." I say while still starring at him "I wonder how long I can stare at him before he turns his head and looks at me."
Then it happens, he lifts up his right hand into the window and kinda shakes it and wiggles is ring finger with the little silver band on it. He wanted to make sure I knew he was married.
I'm happy to know he is married cause that is one less weirdo I have to worry about, and I'm happy for his wife to know that she is married to a faithful man.
Love and miss all

Goodbye Texas
I know, I know I have been gone for a month and I'm just now posting my goodbye.

Mom packed the car good!! Those pictures are on her camera. We made it safe and sleepy. I did well not crying or freaking out UNTIL about two hours from the new house when I looked out the window looked at a mountain and said "What the heck have I just done." That is when the tears started flowing but I tried hard not to so Maddi wouldn't see me crying. She calmed me down by saying good sweet stuff that sisters say.

First day of School
Well, not for me, BUT everyone back in Texas. I missed it!
Alex is a freshman, Brie is in 8th, and little Aleigh isn't so little anymore she is in 6th grade!
I'm still on the job hunt. I got a rejection letter from a staffing agency that I had hoped would help me out. Then today I got another one from a company that I had applied for that did not even require my degree I just thought I would be able to get a foot in the door, AND they rejected me too! I'm feeling defeated but I will press on. ha!
Tomorrow I'm going to do what I have been putting off and go get my fingerprints done so I can get licensed to work a pharmacy in California. I just really didn't want to do Pharmacy. Hopefully if I do I can quickly find job that uses my degree.
I just got back from walking the dog tonight. He is so good it makes me want one of my own, but I know mine would not be so well behaved.
Maybe one day I will feel up to changing my blog layout to a more California friendly one.
Love and Miss all

Update! Update! Update!
Get ready, I'm not in the mood to make a zillion post so here it is all in one!
I'm in California! I love it here! I'm going to try and post more often since I never call home, not because I don't miss everyone but just because I don't feel like being on the phone much.
I will start with when I got here, Oh let me summarize the key people first.
Ashley- My cousin, my dads brothers daughter, also my drill sergeant she is kicking me into shape. Making sure I wake early, cutting my naps in half, making me walk, and keeping me in the job hunt. (I appreciate it even though I complain).
Monroe- Her husband, He is in the military, and works LONG hours because he is about to deploy to Afghanistan.
Zach- their first born, he use to call me Bur-Bur, now its Chub-o. He drives now and well I feel old!
Andrew- the youngest but full of muscles, this kid works out 3 times a day. He just got braces and is still in pain.
Bandit - the dog who is super spoiled but even I spoil him too.
OK so when I first got here Ashley's mom was visiting and Maddi was here so it was still like a vacation. We did some fun things, found a super cool beach that is about an hour away and so so nice.
Now everyone is gone and the boys are back in school. I went to a career workshop the other day that was very very helpful. I have applied a few places and tomorrow I'm going to get my fingerprints done so I can apply for the Pharmacy Tech positions and then at least have some income while I look for the job of my dreams.
I went to church on Sunday and felt old. I went to the Young Single Adults and well they sure are young, but I will go more before I decide I am just way too old.
Ok I thought I would have more to say but well I don't. More updates later.
Love and miss all,
CaliAmber

Road Trip
Maddi and I left dallas at 4pm today it is midnight and we are 182 miles from El Paso! I don't think we will ever get out of TX. We are going to try and just drive all the way but we may end up needing to stop.
West TX smells nasty. Maddi says she never wants to drive thru it again. It really is a whole lotta nothing on this stretch. The speed limit is 80 but at night it is 65 so we don't even get to fully enjoy the raised speed limit.
